WHO WE ARE
We are a team of expert scientists, visionaries, and architects of the future of the skincare industry.
At Cybele, we’ve taken a step beyond “clean” skincare, and we are introducing the first truly personalized skincare.
Skincare made by YOU.
We bring new microbiome-based technologies to consumer products. Our proprietary technologies are efficacious and natural. And this natural means "body-identical" natural-- the absolute best kind of natural.
We provide people with tools to harness the human body's power and its microorganisms, bringing out your skin’s natural potential without relying on added synthetics. As a result, our products fundamentally improve skin health.
Backed by a team of industry-leading advisors, we combine groundbreaking scientific research with top-level strategy and resources to bring you a new class of natural skincare and consumer products.
We are not merely a new competitor in the skincare industry. On the contrary, we are the catalyst for a revolution in the skincare industry.
Nicole Scott, PhD, MPH
Cofounder and CEO
Nicole’s mission is to make products that make a meaningful difference to human health. For a long-time she thought this meant understanding human genetics to find drug targets—but after discovering the incredible impact and potential of the microbiome, her work pivoted to methods, modeling, and ultimately commercializing microbiome technologies that could help people’s health and wellness, and prevent disease in the consumer space. She co-founded Cybele Microbiome out of her over 19 years of experience in population and statistical genetics, the microbiome, and the metagenome. She trained at the University of Michigan and University of Chicago and is an expert in the microbiome and metagenome having worked with Drs. Rob Knight and Jack Gilbert. She was the first employee of the Rob Knight’s startup Biota Technology. She is cited >3000 times, is an active member of an NSF microbiome-related grant review committee, a member of the NIAID PPC/TTP workshop for skin applied insect repellents, as well as an invited speaker in the microbiome and metagenome space.
